Been awhile since I've reviewed Cooper's, so we stopped back in for lunch. They still remain my top BBQ joint - 5-stars each and every time. My favorite is their beef ribs. Top notch meat, seasonings, tenderness - my mouth is watering writing this review. My hubby and son love their pork chops, which we all agree are fabulous.

This is the original Cooper's location. You stop by the pit and pick out your meat. My husband's favorite is their brisket. I love their beef ribs and pork chops. After choosing your meat/meats, go inside to choose your sides and drink and pay. THEN go to the food bar beside the drinks station and pick up pickles, onions, bread, sauce, and don't miss getting a serving or two of their WONDERFUL beans! It is SOOO easy to choose too much."Doggie" bags of leftovers are typical when I go.

Everyone knows about Coopers in Llano, but Inman's is better. Nice atmosphere, good meat, slaw and beans, nice staff. Their sauce is a little bitter than other places, but still good. "Skinny" plates available as well as sandwiches. Top it off with a great piece of pie or cheesecake. Give it a shot if you're in Llano and you're hungry.
We were driving home to Santa Fe from Austin and I realized that we hadn't had any bbq while in Texas. As luck would have it Tumlinsons Smoky Top was open. Our first visit and it won't be the last. I ordered a brisket and ribs to go. We had a small empty cooler and the pit master packaged up our treasure to make it fit with room for ice. I couldn't wait to even reheat it before eating. This is IMO the best bbq ever. Even cold the trimmed brisket burst with a nice and balanced smoke flavor but it didn't over shadow the tender and juicy beef. The ribs, oh my the ribs. Perfection and a nice tang to the rub a slight glaze if sauce. Check'em out. They have a new space for inside dining. And the pit master is one heckuva nice guy.
