We passed Sonnys to go to FatBoys...wondering if that was a mistake.NO WAY!!! OMG...it was wonderful! We went for lunch and ate way too much....but it was so good. We both love the pig fries! French fries loaded with cheese, then BBQ! To die for! You really need to try this place. It's wonderful!!!

Coming from Kansas City, I was drawn to the small barbecue shack with picnic furniture just off Suncoast Boulevard. You have to slow-down and squint to find it, because there is very little signage to help you out. The land is undeveloped and you can park in the grass anywhere.The location is actually convenient, which is a big plus.The meat was cooked well and the sauces were tasty. It might be my KC-bias, but the meat probably needed some additional seasoning or marinading. My wife and I split a daily special with plenty to spare. The staff are all very friendly. The macaroni and cheese wasn't great, but the potato salad was amazing.It probably isn't a secret, but in case it wasn't obvious "Pillar of Smoke" is run by some local Christians (I don't know if they are associated with any particular organization). They were playing Christian rock music when we arrived. I wouldn't call it a problem, but for some people this may be a deal-breaker.

This is a small BBQ truck that sits off of US 19.....unfortunately the BBQ ribs were very disappointing...they were very tough, stringy and chewy....not the tender, falling off the bone type you would hope for....the sides were just okay....prices were good though - so its too bad the ribs were not very good..... - they need to improve the quality of the ribs (and maybe how they smoke them) ....
