We arrived early for a lunch so sat out the back with a small beer until they started to serve. We don't smoke but it is a pleasant walled space where one could if that was wanted. The lady who has the grandchildren after which the restaurant is named, was so friendly and brought us a homemade tapa of tripe, which my husband loved and tucked into. Her son Paco speaks a little English and could translate the menu for us. It is no longer 11 euros for a 3 course lunch with wine, increased slightly. The wine is good for a house wine and I wasn't expecting anything expensive with a menu meal (unlike some other reviewers, who seemed to think it should be top notch as you're in Rioja. In fact, Paco let us buy a box of it from his store as the bodega opposite wasn't open). Our lunch was filling, tasty and home-cooked. There is an open fire for barbecue. The room is too large for cosy but it's clean and I would recommend a meal there. It was our second visit (and my second fair review) so we must've liked it to return!Thank you very much for your opinion. We were very happy for your return. We will continue to work to maintain this level , trying to inprove each day. We wait for you next year. Greetings from the whole Los Nietos team.

This is a special place in the rioja, you will eat very good made on the moment you ask from cero, using amazing locally produce products, in the middle of all the wineries, you will eat like a king, and the service is as good as any 2 stars restaurant in the Michelin guide, we were 14 on our group and we end up very happy.

No doubt this is a place for top quality meat cooked to perfection. You can have a massive steak but if you do plan to share as they did on an adjacent table. Desert of creme brûlée was top quality too, one of my specialities. Thanks you !!!
