I describe the best things as STUPID good! This restaurant gets a 3 Stupid rating! Iâve had several things from here, but the best Iâve had are: ribs, which literally fall off the bone, with crazy good seasoning and smoking; pulled pork grilled cheese, yet another triumph of the stupid goodness; cheesy corn and curly fries to die for. Do not miss this gem! Or you might be stupid...but not in a good way!

We live an hour from Versailles and were attending the live theater production. So were others. Gilbert's had every table filled when we arrived for our 5:30 reservation. They can sit about 35 people. We (and others) sat for at least 30 minutes before our orders were taken. Several tables got up and left. Two tables ordered and left before their food was delivered. How was the food? Average. I ordered the aged 21 day steak ... I bent my fork and knife trying to cut the medium steak. Really. The green beans were good. The salad was delivered after my steak had been delivered. Oh yes, this must be a dry county - no alcohol.

This is a must stop when in the lake area on the best West Side of the lake. Excellent food and great staff. They will always go the extra mile for a customer.

Ok, weekend get away. Once in the lake area we were hungry and thought we would try the ... uhh huh,, #1 bbq place here.Well, my wife did like her brisket. Said it was really good. Here Cole slaw was, ok.My marinated grilled chicken breast sandwich was so amazingly dry, hard to chew, could eat less than half of it. The baked potato was a baked potato. The baked beans were pretty sickly. My wife tried them too and she did not care for them either. Unfortunately , the best part of my meal was the bun.Oh well.. live and learn. If this is number 1, what is the incentive to try any other bbq place here? By the way look at the pictures of the 2 containers of "butter" they gave me for my potato. X OFF THE BUCKET LIST Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with us. Did your server offer you a different sandwich and side? I am sorry that your margarine separated. We set it out for room temperature so that when customers put it on their potato it melts. Sounds like we need to explore other options.
