We wandered into the local restaurant district and happened across a place named âcaffe nagisa Guinness barâ. Looked interesting, so we went in for a beer -and pasta. The waitress was extremely helpful, patiently translating the menu for us. I had the pizza with Gorgonzola cheese and my wife ordered the pasta with fresh tomatoes. Both dishes were extremely tasty, as was the salad we also ordered.Today we went looking for the #1 ranked restaurant in the area. Milk and beer hall 99. Imagine our surprise when we saw that this was actually the place we ate at last night. Iâm not sure I understand why the name is different to the name on the reviews, but who cares. We loved the food and the place felt very happy.
Where to eat Italian food in Shirahama-cho: The Best Restaurants and Bars

We unexpectedly stumbled upon this quaint bar/restaurant/pub our 1st day in Shirahama. What a find. The food was fantastic. We had the artful salad, a great Western-styled burger & fries and the Chicken pasta. We complimented that with some local beer & a made-to-order margarita (not on the menu). The best part was meeting & getting to know the ownerâRecep Telli. Recep is from Turkey but has been living in Japan close to 10 years. His English is good & he is a lot of fun. We would make daily visits to this place if we were permanent Japanese residents.

Excellent food and charming hosts. Definitvely a place to recommend when you're at Shirahama beach and you're looking for something else than Japanese cuisine. Tapa's and Paella brought memories back from our holiday's in Spain. Yummy chocolats.
Walking down the street trying to find a particular Italian restaurant and came across this cute neighborhood bar/restaurant and decided to try. Run by a gentleman from Istanbul. Had an awesome plate of salmon pasta in cream sauce and a nice cold beer. Sounds like a happening place for late night bar festivities. Open till 3am. Said during tourist season very busy place. Great music, indoor or outdoor seating. Great ambiance. 1/2 block of Main Street across from beach, ask around its well known!
