Pienza, a town in Tuscany, is the "touchstone of Renaissance urbanism." Pienza was the birthplace of Aeneas Silvius Piccolomini, who would become Pope Pius II. After he became Pope, Piccolomini had the entire village rebuilt as an ideal Renaissance town that would serve as a retreat from Rome.

I stopped in to Idyllium on a cold, windy night in Pienza. What a great spot! Great drinks, and super kind service. Stylish, fun, good music, great drinks. I'll be back next time I am in Pienza!

This is in my opinion incorrectly c,assified as a desert place. They serve full lunch and dinner and, if you want dinner at 5 or 6 0'clock, it is one of the few places that still has all entree items available. We ate here twice on this trip, once in 2015. We would eat here again. The soup was good, the salad big enough for 2 to share. The pasta dishes are very good. Prices are very reasonable for Pienza. Only downside are the wobbly chairs and tables, fur to the uneven pavement. I do not understand the low ratings for this place. In. Y view, it derserves to at least middle of the pack, not at the bottom. There are many worse options in Pienza. Try it.

If you are in montepulciano you must visit this cafe - rare to find such a selection of tea and great coffee. Also offering delicious food and very reasonable prices - stylish and relaxing place on a beautiful street to soak in the history of montepulciano

I have been to this caffe'/bistrot last week, attracted by a sign outside saying 'fresh white truffle'.We ordered some antipasti - cured meats and cheese. This was OK.We also ordered white truffle fettuccine and a pork steak with cavolo nero. The truffle fettuccine did not have ANY truffle whatsoever. I had white truffle many times in the past, and I can ensure you that this was totally tasteless. The pork steak was quite dry and tasteless too.I know there are many nice restaurants in Pienza, unfortunately this is not one of them.
