The mark of a great staff is how they react when things do not go correctly. The somehow put my others burrito on my plate. they discovered this before they brought out the food. Brought my plate out rather than warmer it. Explained the situation and shortly brought out my others plate (less than 2 minutes later) it was obvious that the wait staff made getting this plate out a priority. As always the burritos were great. Again great job by the staff!!Thank you for the review and feedback! Hope to see you again soon.

Voodoo BBQ is hidden in a strip mall on New Haven's East Side. They are close to the 469 x Old 30 Exit (i.e now Hwy 930 0r Lincoln Highway) They share the same business with Winning Circle Off Track Betting. However, although you can get Voodoo BBQ service on the betting half, no need to sit there. The main restaurant has its own separate dining area, with tables and booths. Our group of eight had no issue getting our own table, They are clean and brightly lit. Plenty of TVs to catch current sporting events. We found the service good. Only hiccup was getting our bills, that part was slow. However, up until that point, drink and food orders were quickly & efficiently taken and filled. We had three light eaters that simply ordered their "Side Platter," which was three sides plus corn bread. They had a combination of Corn Pudding, Mac&Cheese, Sweet Potato Souffle, Red Beans & Rice and/or Steamed Veggies. The portions were good and all were satisfied, Another had Southern Chicken Tenders for their meal. This was a large plate of chicken with Mojo BBQ sauce (a choice of 3 sauces is offered). Another had one of their Bur-gahs. Another had their Fried Catfish Platter with a choice of two sides plus corn bread. In my case, I had "The Voodoo," which is a half rack of ribs plus a 1/2 pound of any of their meats (pulled pork, smoked chicken, jerk chicken, spicy cajun sausage or brisket). I choose their brisket with Mac&Cheese and Gumbo as my sides, along with corn bread. I found the meats great. Ribs were fall off the bone tender and flavorful. As much as I liked the ribs, which was a lot, I like the brisket even more. Very tender and rich in flavor. I needed no extra BBQ sauce. We all definitely enjoyed our food, drinks, and the atmosphere. We will surely return.

Trion is family, couple or singles friendly craft beer pub with separate bar area family room on the main floor. For larger private gatherings, they have a separate separate two floor banquet area with its own bar. They now have free WiFi. They offer 58 different beers on tap from around the world, as well as canned / bottle domestic & imports. Further, they have a full wet bar, note they have a special selection of bourbons. This is an old establishment on a corner lot in downtown New Haven. They have street parking as well as a parking lot in the back. You may enter through the front or a back entrance if you used the rear parking area. The interior is nothing special but very serviceable and welcoming. The staff was pleasant and efficient. Our foursome sat in a booth on the bar side. The huge bar was decorative. They had a couple TVs providing visuals distractions to accompany our conversation. They have large menu with a selection of appetizers, salads, cracker crust pizza, Trion Rolls (calzones), wraps, half pound burgers, sandwiches and entree (fall off the bone ribs, chicken, shrimp, fish). We tried their fried mushrooms ap, which was fine. A Vegetarian burger, Avocado burger and Teriyaki chicken sub. All were good. I had the sub with fries. The sandwich was packed with nicely cooked chicken and the fries had a flavorful spicy coating. We had a nice time at Trion and would not hesitate to return.

A group of eight of decided to stop in for food and drinks. We have all been to 469 before and love the relaxed, unpretentious bar atmosphere. 469 is basically a large bar with many TVs, pool tables, dart boards, and a shuffle table. They typically have a juke box playing. Further, they have a DJ later at night, at least on Friday and Saturday. We have not been here when they were not mildly to very busy. We also enjoy a crowd. This day we wanted a couple rounds of cool beverages to wind down. Our waitress was pleasant, efficient and fast. We moved onto the meal with a selection of pizza, salads or rolls. I continue to highly recommend anything that they make from dough (bread, pizza, grinders, rolls) as they make their own and it is delicious. I again went with their Mushroom roll which some may better know as a calzone. It is actually a combination of mushrooms, pepperoni and sausage - just a bit more mushrooms than the others. I was again happy with my selection. After the food, more drinks and a small shuffle board tournament. Whether I want to our not, I play once every year or two. So not competitive, but laughs anyway. Once again we enjoyed ourselves and will certainly be back.Thank you for your review. We are so glad your group enjoyed your experience at 469 ! Hope to see you again soon.
