We had dinner at this place. They serve very nice antipasto, only made from local food. We went for the antipasto misto, which offers a very nice combination of different dishes including e g. Mortadella with a pistachio cream or wedges with a topping of local cheese. The taste is really exceptional since they use recipes created by themselves: each antipasto is more like a unique composition. Our second dish was what Maurizio calls a sandwich; it looks like a burger but it has nothing in common with a burger: it is made of local cheese, local meat and a variety of marinades and adds, e. g. chestnuts and honey. Eating the burger is a unique experience of taste and a feast for the eyes too!! You do not find a second place of this kind in whole Avellino and Salerno region!!

I have wanted to try this "agriturismo" for quite some time but wanted to go when i could really appreciate what this fabulous restaurant has to offer - the structure overlooks the village of Montefredane and the views are absolutely beautiful - today was a hot summer's day and this added to the beauty of the surroundings - to reach the restaurant itself you have to travel up a private acces road which is flanked by olive and wine groves to one side and hazelnut trees on the other. We were welcomed by a cordial receptionist that quickly showed us to our table - we decided to dine with a set menue already offered to guests of the agriturismo and took a chance on what was on offer - me be celiac, i mentioned that i could not eat any form of gluten and the waiter straight away noted my needs. The starter comprised of various dishes but mine were all minus gluten - parma ham, ricotta cheese, salami and greens for a start with the waiter coming back with a tray of cold cuts to offer extra if we desired. This first course of anti pasto was followed with vegetable quiche and flatbreat with potatoe and onions - i was served extra vegetables - that is two plates of grilled aubergine and zucchine with homemade cucumber pickles -following this we were served zero kilometer fresh spinach salad with grated local cheese and free range sourced pork fries - my plate was a lighter version of this semi warm salad - following this we were served stuffed round zucchine but the star of the show was the on the spot hand rolled mozzarella - literally done in the restaurant hall by the chef using the old fashioned technique - he took the mother cheese and rolled it expertly into mozzarella balls and plaits and they were served warm and fresh - i have never seen this done before - the waiter also told us that the bread is produced in house using a mix of biological flours - potatoe and lential flour and all the vegetables are trackable to the root using a system of selection and labeling of the plant from the insemination literally to the table - not one vegetable is not sourced from the agriturismo and the cheeses are only produced on site - you cannot get what they do not produce - that is what the essence of agriturism is and they have respected this rule to the point of perfection. My husband and my daughter then had bought to them two tasters of pasta -the first taster was ravioli filled with homemade ricotta and dressed with a sauce mint and cheese - the second pasta was homemade fusilli pasta dressed with a ragout of sausage and tomatoei was bought a beautiful plate of freshly tossed hot spinach leaves with carrots julienne and onions - i ordered another two plates as sides to our meat. The wine is produced in house and is an Aglianico red - it paired beautifully with the food - we then ordered upon the recomendation of the Maitre D' a bottle of white Fiano - usually a white does not hold up with meat but this bottle of 2012 had the character of a good red and when we ate our sliced fillet of beef dressed with local cheese savings and tomatoes, bedded with salad and frsh baby spinach, dressed with a touch of home pressed olive oil - our mouths danced with delight whilst our palates appreciated the wine and the divine service that we were afforded throughout the meal service.Desert was spectacular - a tris of 1. Panna cotta, 2. Neapolitan rum baba and a slice of homegrown watermelon - i was offered a plate of fresh cheese from the kitchen literally warm still -coffee and homemade hazelnut liqour finished our culinery tour of zero kilometres and quite honestly i would walk one hundred miles to experience this again as every season they change their menue in accordance to what the fruits of their homegrown table can bring to it's guest.I cannot recommend this reataurant enough - it is worthy of the 5 stars as it has married, quality and price - we paid 25 euros a head with extra for the wine that was worth every single euro - 10 euros a bottle is a great price for a wine of this calibre -the intimacy of the restaurant makes it that we can dine in two,, 10 or 50 - i would seriusly consider holding an occassion here - like a birthday but even a wedding as it is so elegant and the staff are "top" of their class - Chef Raffaelle Rav is an artist, he could quite easily qualify for a michellin star - the waiting staff are worthy of great recognition but most of all THE FOOD - tasting is believing and i am of a belief that it just does not get better than this.Thank you for a great day, it was worth the wait - Rita and Gennaro Iannuzzi, Avellino.
