Visited The Charles for Fatherâs Day brunch, arrived at 10:10 was seated right away. Took a little while for our sever to come out however he was really nice, took our orders, and got our appetizers and drinks out to us promptly. Our brunch meals arrived shortly after we finished our appetizer. We had the scones which were AMAZING and the complimentary bread (we didnât have a selection like the other tables but hey itâs bread on the house). I ordered the platter which was really tasty, the bacon was thick cut which is always better than any other bacon known to man kind! My husband had the sausage and bacon omelet, he said he felt like there wasnât any bacon but the omelet was good. All in all we will return soon!

Iconic Maryland bar and restaurant serving famous crab dip, fresh & never frozen 100% beef burgers, fan-favorite wings, a $7.99 lunch menu, and a wide selection of local, craft, and specialty beers. Always a good game on TV, and every seat has a good view
Greeted at the door and seated quickly server took our drink orders while we decided on food. Came back no drinks and took our food order, drinks came out shortly after that, we ordered a bunch of appetizers, the rockfish bits were delicious, the crab dip and pretzels excellent, chicken quesadilla tasty the SOMD wings were no big deal, loaded tater tots were good, took awhile for our server to come back and check on our drinks I believe he was a little over his head and it wasnât very busy. Over all a good time and good food.

Seat yourself it took a few minutes to be approached by the waitstaff we already knew what we wanted so we ordered our drinks and food, took awhile to get our drinks but our food came out quickly, the drinks were good and food delicious, there was only 2 waitresses for entire bar and restaurant they were so busy we were never approached again to check on us for more drinks or how our food was, we had to track them down to get our check. Not sure if it was a scheduling problem or staff called out, this is a great local restaurant but management needs to be aware they have a problem.

Ate here recently while traveling up US 301. Very friendly staff and excellent waitress. Tasty beef and black bean soup, good steak with nice baked potato and bacon green beans. Our nice waitress added onion strings to my steak as a favor to accommodate my taste. Companion's tomato bisque and shrimp tossed salad was enjoyed as well. In the MINOR oddities department, we were seated at a booth toward the back which had one curious drawback. Due to the layout of the restaurant, 3 or 4 of the back booths immediately abut the computer order entry and billing stations used by the staff. These jut out into the booth row such that they are immediately behind one of the seats. Throughout our meal, this resulted in a number of the staff standing immediately over my companion as they worked at the computer, within easy earshot of our conversation and elevated enough that they could look right down into the booth if they wished. Not that we had anything to hide, it was just a strange effect that I'd never experienced in a restaurant before. We were seated in that booth even though there were many empty booths throughout the place. Of course, we could have asked to move, but it truly wasn't that big a deal. Nevertheless, I think if I were running the place, I would fill these booths last after all others were occupied. It was just mildly creepy having someone standing right over us much of the time.Overall, for two tired and hungry travelers, this was a very tasty reasonably priced meal with a very friendly and helpful staff.
