Enjoyed a lovely meal here in early autumn so Besalu was quiet but very nice. We sat on the terrace out the back overlooking the river and old bridge. Great service, food and wine, this restaurant is kinda of tucked away and doesn't look much from the outside but we were glad we found it.

This is a really nice, small Tapas Bar which opens only in the evening - it has got a small menu and we liked it a lot.In addition, the charme of the street we were sitting in is remarkable (but Besalu IS very nice, especially in the evening)The salad with goats cheese and honey(?) was wonderful, the croquettes just fine and the pa amb tomaquet (bread with tomato, typical catalonian) and cheese platter were great too. We choose it for two people and nearly could not manage all of it.Drinks were included, thus (with 11 EUR per person) quite fair

Hemos estado cenando con nuestros hijos pequeños. Estaba todo riquÃsimo. Las croquetas, el embutido de la zona y el tomate con burrata. Todo a un precio asequible, en una plaza con mucho encanto y com un trato muy agradable. Lo recomiendo 100%

Tempted by a flyer in our hotel which advised (in Catalan) that this place was open 19:00 - 23:00 from Thursdays to Sundays, we sought it out. The flyer would have benefitted from a map. Like in a great many craft beer outlets, you sit outside on some logs, or in a factory, so pretty it ain't. However, the service was friendly. They do an excellent English IPA (6%), a stonking Imperial Stout called Maya, after the brewer's baby daughter (9%+), a quite boring lager (5%?) and a delicious elderflower beer (about 5.2%). Three of these beers were first rate, so we visited on Saturday, when we arrived, and then again on the Sunday. The beer was not expensive- cheaper than ordinary beer in ordinary bars.
