We visited this restaurant for an early evening meal having been recommended it by the nearby campsite. We regretted it.My staters wasnât bad but you canât go far wrong with smoked salmon and some salad. My wifeâs scallops were gritty and 3 scallops for £9 seemed expensive. We both ordered the chicken main course. It was served with some strange mashed potato with lumps of something else in it - not sure what? The vegetables, which on the menu are described as local and fresh, were tinned and unidentifiable- they looked like dog sick.Dessert was very poor. The whole meal was also very rushed- the staff, who spent most of their time on their phones, had no idea about polite service

We popped along for a wander and stopped here for a brew which was great. Good view of the bay and the tea came with complimentary biccies which were brill. These days teas and coffee range from the sensible to the silly here is was the former and with the biccies made a great experience

The location is good situated next to the stream not far the jetty and pontoons, so convenient for sailors. The dining room itself is comfortable enough and there was a varied menu and a number of specials. The level of service depended on who served you, one of the staff was not very welcoming the other was good.I ordered fish pie which was OK, but nothing special, neither was my husband's venison.I do not think that I will be in Gairloch again, but if I were I would try somewhere else.

Lovely meal at this relaxed waterside watering hole. Cosy fire, welcoming bar, great outside space right on a sheltered corner of the loch for wildlife and boat and landscape watching. Food was delicious (mind you, not cheap). Stands out above every other pub we've been to in the area (well Scotland really). Quick, shuts for the winter soon!
