We have been coming here for years despite travelling from far away..because the food is amazingly tasty, the atmosphere friendly, and Midge is just great, whether he's cooking or front of house. In fact, we like the restaurant and the local people so much that we've been looking to move here. Looking forward to many more years of fantastic food, great company, and so unbelievably friendly that we rarely leave without making new friends. This restaurant is a real gem...I hope that it never changes. I don't think it ever will.

We visited Elaichi on a Friday evening at 6.30 having previously booked a table. The restaurant was already getting busy and when we left every table was occupied which was a good sign! The service, food and atmosphere were great and I wouldnât hesitate to recommend it!We were with some friends from Australia and they had requested a good curry and they were not disappointed!A great local curry house!

Weâve been regular customers of Sylhet Spice for many years, and I have reviewed this popular restaurant in Ripley in Derbyshire previously, though some years ago now in 2014. Weâve eaten in the contemporary and stylish dining room (which, thankfully, is devoid of all that ubiquitous Indian tat which seems to find its way to many Indian restaurants), as well as taking advantage of their fairly efficient take-out service, which we did on this occasion.Itâs been a few months since we last enjoyed food from here. I noticed quite a few changes to the menu, and actually wondered if thereâd been a change of ownership or management. Our order was taken promptly via phone, though we were not given a total cost for the order before the operator ended the call. The order was ready at the designated collection time. We ordered the Kashmiri Chicken and the Tamarind Chicken. Both dishes were full of flavours, with ample pieces of tender chicken. This was supplemented with a side of pilau rice, a side of Aloo Gobi, and a Peshawari Naan. The whole meal was good; itâs just a shame our old favourites (Chicken Tikka Chasni and Chicken Tikka Mossoman) are no longer on the menu, but great to see some new dishes. A wide variety of vegan and vegetarian options are available, and other dietary needs will be catered for without fuss.Weâll continue to support this local and popular restaurant. It's 'Bring Your Own' alcoholic beverages, which is a great concept as it saves the usual extortionate mark-ups. It's relatively wheel-chair friendly; there is a step up at the front door, but it should be easily negotiable.

We went on a sat night and had booked for a group of eight .There was only a handful of people in which was odd . The staff were very friendly but they forgot one of the starters then we were waiting for 90 minutes for the main courses !, when it came it was cold but did to we arrived at 8 and now it was 10 we just got on with it . The good was nice but were they just concentrating on takeaways ?
