Really great food. We had the whole roast chicken between 3 of us and there was plenty. Sides of green beans, cauliflower and carrots were great. Service was friendly and attentive. Lovely setting. And would be lovey in summer to sit out on deck.

A lovely old building in need of some TLC abut full of character. I should be great but we felt really let down by this place. Entry is by the side (which is odd if you come from the road where the original door way is located) and is unappealing. It does provide wheel chair access.Interior is nice being quaint with ‘period features’. Staff were friendly but the service was indifferent and the coffee not great. The mead was not bad but overall we were not impressed. You have a point. The original cottage was built in 1879 and does need a lot of TLC. We've been working on it bit by bit on a limited budget. Parking is at the back and the front door faces a busy road. We decided to use the side door as the entry because it faces on to the garden and outdoor eating area.
