Korean & Japanese cuisine made with all fresh local ingredients, eat-in or/and takeaway Lunch and Dinner 6days a week, Tuesday to Sunday. Friendly service and delious food. Only Korean and Japanese restaurant situated at 54a Palmerin street, Warwick Queen
Love Japanese food? Love Korean food? Well you're going to love this tiny but fantastic gem of a place, easy to locate in Palmerin Street. Easy parking out front, an elegant simple clean timber entrance, comfortable tables and chairs (not always so in Asian restaurants that don't cater for the more amply bottomed of us!)Great wafting aromas drifting from the kitchen - it's a small restaurant, you can hear the chefs clanging the pots from behind the curtain, and your mouth starts watering as you read the generous menu, all items greatly described. Just order a main to share if you're having entrees as the portions are generous. Only one waiter serving the whole restaurant of about 50 diners, so what if he got our Japanese beer order wrong? It was icy cold, frothy and perfect!! Great food, absolutely delicious - fresh, fragrant and ample, reasonably priced. You don't want standard food when you eat out right? Treat yourself at Soban, not your standard Asian food at all!!! There's many choices of what to eat from the menu as well as the specials, great wines to accompany the spicy foods and a huge selection of sakes to choose from.Go again? Of course. You've gotta support locals who do good things, and Soban really do. My mouth's watering thinking of the tempura prawns and vegetables with that icy cold Asahi beer .... mmm

Visited for take away on a rainy night in Warwick. Staff were friendly but we waited several minutes before our order was even taken. And then a long wait for our order, as the restaurant was very busy. Our $49 family dinner was great value. The food was mostly delicious. Although we did find some peices of the deep fried meats (lemon chicken and sweet and sour pork) a bit dried out and over cooked. Other pieces in the same batch perfectly cooked. Overall we very much enjoyed the meal though. Menu had good variety.

We called in Monday night with only 40 minutes to spare before going to a movie at the local cinema. Being the only in-house diners (although a tonne of takeaway was flying out the door!) we were seated and had our orders in in no time by a friendly waitress.Meals were fabulous. One was combination garlic, so prawns, chicken, red meat and veg all in a delicious salty garlic sauce. The other Mongolian lamb loaded with meat and onions and beautiful sauce. A huge serve of special fried rice had us very full and very happy. Good drinks list and wines available in glass/half/full carafe. If I lived in Warwick Iâd be here all the time! Thanks for a great meal Chung Hing.
Stayed in Warwick for weekend and was looking for a nice place to have dinner and was recommended J Y Thai. Good was fabulous with the service friendly and quick. Decor not the best but was comfortable with the restaurant filling up fast and lots of takeaways. Would highly recommend J Y Thai for a great meal
