We dined here on our last night of our girl’s trip. I selected this resto based on reviews and prayed that my friends would love it. Well, we were not disappointed. Yay!!! The menu is extensive so it was a bit overwhelming to choose. Our wonderful server, Erica, suggested that we opt for the chef’s tasting where we would get the chance to taste many of their top dishes. It was perfect! We had the pomegranate guacamole, tacos, kimchee fried rice, sea bass, sumo rolls, shaking beef, ceviche and more! Erica surprised us with dessert so that was so sweet! Thank you Erica!! We, 7, ladies were happy. Oh the space! Very spacious. It was in a plaza so I figured plenty of parking. Not 100% sure since we used Uber. Anyway, there was a tree in the middle of the restaurant which was captivating. Nice wide bar with huge TVs. We were seated in the patio. It was nice and not too hot (dinner was around 7pm). Type of music was great and not too loud that you can’t hear yourself speak but enough to feel like you were at a lounge somewhere. Great ambiance and food overall. Definitely a place to check out in Scottsdale.

While in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area for 9 days, we have rejoiced in finding Malee's Thai Bistro during the first evening meal. Since then (Yes, we have to leave tomorrow) we have had several (2 lunches and 3 dinners) there and were more favorably impressed with each visit. The curries are all exquisite with a perfect balance of flavor and spice. The bar features an addictive PainKiller tropical rum drink that certainly lives up to its name. It is hard to identify which dish(es) is(are) my favorite, but my wife's favorite is a Japanese Eggplant curry that she has ordered twice! The happy hour 4:00 - 6:00 (weekdays) is not be missed either.

Yard House

We went to a Yard House for the first time last year when we were in Florida and loved it. I made reservations at the Yard House while we were in Arizona, thinking we would have the same experience. No. We ordered exactly what we had ordered in Florida. The calamari was very overcooked and the coating just fell off of it. Their lobster, crab and artichoke dip was also overcooked and dry. Their chicken wings, again, very overcooked. The redeeming appetizer, ahi poke nachos, were very good. Had a great experience the first time. Too bad.

My wife and I's reservation was at 7:45 PM. We stood at the entry for over 10 mins without any greeter. Apparently, guests were waiting long due to 2 of their cooks are on leave. The guess seated next to us said the food is great and is worth the wait; there were some good reviews and we wanted to try it for ourselves. It took half an hour to serve us our drinks, an hour for our appetizer (coconut shrimp) and papaya salad, an hour and a half for our main entree and dessert. I ordered green curry with beef but got a regular curry with chicken. They gave us an extra of the chicken curry on the house. My wife ordered the royal chicken noodle but there is nothing royal about it. I do not know who was cooking but it is NOT worth the wait. Very disappointed. Sadly, the best thing from our order was the can of diet Coke. :( Two teenagers are doing the serving and they were overwhelmed and very confused.Poor management for allowing two cooks and helpers to be on leave without any back-up.
