Find out what Asian restaurants to try in Osoyoos. Osoyoos (/ɒˈsuːjuːs/, historically /ˈsuːjuːs/) is the southern-most town in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia between Penticton and Omak. Near the border with Washington state, the town is also adjacent to the Indian Reserve of the Osoyoos Indian Band. The origin of the name Osoyoos was the word sẁiẁs (pronounced "soo-yoos") meaning "narrowing of the waters" in the local Okanagan language (Syilx'tsn). The "O-" prefix is not indigenous in origin and was attached by settler-promoters wanting to harmonize the name with other place names beginning with O in the Okanagan Country (Oliver, Omak, Oroville, Okanogan). There is one local newspaper, the Osoyoos Times.

We travel a lot and we eat sushi a lot. Best find outside Japan (and would still do well there too) A great family run business bu I predict it will be busy, so be prepared for a little wait. Or plan to grab something from their deli case that was fresh made earlier in the day

My wife, Brenda and I took a friend for dinner here during the August long weekend. We have driven/walked past here frequently and actually looked over a copy of the take-out menu the day before. We arrived shortly after it opened at 4:30 and found a table. The decor reminded me of your typical out-of-step, outdated 70s restaurant that serves this type of food. We were reminded that the smorg was not going to be ready for "another ten minutes" so we enjoyed beverages until then. Finally the food was being served directly from the kitchen into shallow warming trays. Then a complete table of patrons stood up and headed to the smorg. I took that as a good sign and we all went. There were probably 15-20 hot dishes available. Each one was incredible. Normally I find a few items are great and others not-so-great. Not here. Everything I tasted was awesome. The trays were constantly refilled with fresh items from the kitchen. The teriyaki chicken was devine. The ginger beef rocked as did all the dishes available. The others at my table agreed. We will be back for sure. Highly recommended!
I had good hopes for this place. Very much wanted to support a local inventive alternative food establishment. 1) Sat down to plastic glasses. 2) What I ordered didnât mention ânoodlesâ (I choose the only menu item that appeared without grains) which was a curry-vegetable-chicken/prawn soup (Pho). I guess I should have checked, as had noodles despite the menu description as a âvegetable curry soupâ distinctly differently from the noodle heavy rest of the menu. Anyway....It was weak (to say the least) in vegetablesâ (tops 4 small pieces of broccoli) and really very little of anything else other than rice noodles and chicken broth (total of 3 pieces of chicken...I counted). It was really a huge disappointment. The bill took a long to come, even after requesting it. And the bill had to end up being âbroken downâ at the register as it was never asked in the first place if we wanted separate bills. Nothing was ever âupselledâ like tea, or even their âbubble-teaâ. The price would have been reasonable if the soup had at least some vegetables. I hope they get their learning curve resolved. The curry-broth was good, although it desperately needed an acid (lime). It honestly tasted very inauthentic and completely disappointing. I tasted none of what I would associate with Pho OR Vietnamese curry.

Chinese cuisine as well.
We ate here one day, while on our vacation in Osoyoos. I would say that the food is below average. I did not like the taste and the quality of the food. Meat was hard to find in the dishes. I know it was Osoyoos downtown, but hey at least keep some standard. I don't recommend for the people who want to enjoy a good Asian food.
