The quality, presentation and taste of the modern Japanese food at Dashi is up there with the best and after a number of visits it gets better. There are some traditional Japanese classics but you will find some of the dishes are modern with a Japanese twist but all high class. This is a small family run restaurant in Mt Eliza with a very skilled chef and a nice comfortable friendly atmosphere and definitely worth a visit. Lunch is very good value.

Was suggested we grab some Vietnamese in Mount Eliza, I was kind of surprised. Last place I would of looked for this style of food. Our Mount Eliza friends who live nearby have been going to Le Hoang for years! Itâs their favorite and I can see why!I took a bottle of wine, ate heaps ( far too much) all the favorite Vietnamese dishes, especially entrees which the 4 of us shared, ended up spending about $25 a head! (Included a few mixed drinks and beers) Food was lovely and very tasty, Stuffed Chicken Wing was a favorite! There were a few families there with young children who appeared to also be enjoying themselves and generally that place was echoing the sound of happy customers sharing their eveningRecommend this place for a good honest casual meal. Precisely what a quality suburban restaurant should be about. Nothing flash or trendy or exotic. A menu that is straight-forward, service that is not only competent and friendly but quick, food that is just plain good, prices that are reasonable. Not too noisy. And even comfortable chairs.Itâs been there for a long time ⦠for all the right reasons. Not trendy. Just good. Just go there.

Outstanding every time. The food is traditional, high quality and absolutely delicious. It's like a little slice of Japanese paradise in Mt. Eliza. We go as often as we can and highly recommend. It's not fancy inside but very comfortable, and the sake, beer and drinks are a perfect small selection. Love the gyoza, gyu tataki, one of the BEST miso eggplant ever, and the always fresh and delicious sushi and sashimi are great - they are Japanese owned and have the passion of great japanese chefs.
