Restaurant le Vietnam

The initial info on the address was a little off so after asking some vendors we wandered down Rue de Soleillet and found the restaurant on the left about 50m from the corner of Rue d'Ethiopie. My 2 friends and I went up a flight of stairs to a 1st floor location with sufficient seating for 50 to 60 people. The decor was simple but pleasant and the overall atmosphere was enticing with a large screen TV to watch whilst waiting to be served. The service was quick and the waiter that served us brought our drink order promptly. We had the Spring Rolls and Fried Beef Dumplings for entree that were tasty and filling. One of my friends had the Pork Noodle Soup but was not impressed and he thought the meat tasted funny so pushed it aside. The Kung Pao Chicken ordered tasted more of Soy Sauce and lacked a lot of the taste the dish overall left a lot to be desired with vegetables used as a filler.I ordered the Moo Shu Beef which generally comes with thin pancakes but mine was served with rice. The dish was overly salty but overall it was very filling.Pricewise the Entrees are between F1,100 to F1,700 ($US6.20 to $US9.60) and the main courses are between F1,600 to F2,000 ($US9 to $US11.50)People tend to eat late in Djibouti so when we arrived at 7pm the restaurant was empty.

Restaurant le Santal

In Djibouti, where many restaurants are ridiculously overpriced and under-performing, it was a nice surprise to find Le Santal to be the exception to the rule. Having a weird combination of pizza, indian and chinese cuisine there is a wide choice of dishes and the quality and services are quite good, including the wine, and at a reasonable price. Nice oriental decorations. Close to the center and good parking space around the building.

Cultures offers another great place to take care of your sushi cravings in Djibouti. The restaurant offers a diverse selection of sushi and sashimi and other Japanese favorties. The crazy roll is especially tasty. The edamame and tempura are both popular dishes as well.If you're not craving sushi, Cultures creates frozen coffee drinks that are a surprising treat on a hot Djibouti day.Cultures is located near the airport. It offers both outdoor and indoor seating. (The outdoor seating does not offer a nice view though.) Parking is on the street.
