I went in without a reservation. It's a busy place, so I will reserve next time. They were able to sit me at the bar.The choice of sushi is very good. I choose a selection a la carte. Service was fast as the team seemed well trained and coordinated.The sushi are very tasty. Fish is fresh and the presentation is very nice.I found that there was a small taste missing in the rice. The texture is fine. It's not too sticky, or mushy. But a taste was missing. Is it the mirin or rice vinegar mix that is off? No idea.

When travelling, we usually seek out Thai or other Asian restaurants as places where we can get tasty vegetarian meals, so we tried this establishment. There were no vegetarian items on the menu but we were told we could substitute tofu for meat in any of the meals so we did so with Poulet Thailandais and Poulet Kroeung. Neither one compared well with meals we have had in other Asian restaurants. The sauces were thin and relied too heavily on ginger for flavour. The meal was a bit on the expensive side. The server was pleasant and efficient and I wouldn't find fault with the ambience.Hi Douglas,Thanks for the comment. The waitress may could have believe to say to you than we have a full vegetarian menu with dumplings bio. We are so sorry for your visit to la maison khmère. Next time with pleasure, i can receive you again for to eat a good vegetarian meal.

My wife & I tried to go to Tamaki Sushi which has the #1 rating on Trip Advisor, but it was inexplicably closed at 7 on Saturday when we got there. Perhaps it was the closed off street hosting band concerts. Our B&B has recommended Aki Sushi and some natives who turned at the closed Tamaki said they would go tp Aki so we did too and had a fabulously tasty time from start to finish.Aki is not downtown but easily found and were busy on a Saturday night. One should call ahead if possible to get one of the intimate and warm rooms in the back, but tables up front are comfortable.There is a menu in English with pictures. We shared the Pizza poulet, ($10) sort of a specialty in the area and it was a delicious baked rice patty that fluffed up and was covered with tender strips of chicken (a tad salty) and fresh salad.When asked about specials our waiter had recommended the chef's choice (Choic du chef) of 1 piece of sushi each for a $. What ever they are making you get and it is a mix. I ordered 6 and we got a vegetarian, a shrimp and crab mix a lobster and 2 salmons, and a shrimp. All light and delicious.I don;t normally order dessert in a sushi restaurant, but this chain has some good ones for only $3.49.They have a light chocolate and a sweet pineapple tempura, but I ordered the 3 layered niji-iro choco (top) -tapioca -mango (on the bottom). Delicious and topped off the meal without a beat.The service was very good and solicitous. They tool the time to explain all the choices we had and wanted us to be happy.

Nous avions choisi ce restaurant car sur leur site web, on annonçait une promotion pour les 60 ans et plus, les lundi, mardi et mercredi: on rajeunit de -25%...pour se faire dire à lâarrivée que cette promotion nâexiste plus. De retour à la maison, on regarde de nouveau le site et on se rend compte quâen tous petits caractères, il est écrit que cette promotion peut prendre fin sans préavis. Un peu douteux comme publicité...Comme on était en début de semaine, il y avait peu de plats dans le buffet. Câétait donc un peu cher 19,95$ pour ce qui était offert. Mais la cerise sur le sunday fut lors du paiement. Je paye avec ma carte de crédit en mettant un pourboire de 12% puisque câétait un buffet (la norme est 10%) mais je retire trop vite ma carte et la transaction sâannule. La serveuse sâempresse de reprendre ma carte pour refaire la transaction en disant que ce serait moins compliqué comme cela. Elle jette le coupon de la transaction. Je lui demande de me le donner et je me rends compte quâelle sâest ajoutée un pourboire plus généreux que jâavais mis. Assez ordinaire que je lui ai dit et ... douteux! En tout cas, ce nâest sûrement pas des bonnes façons de conserver sa clientèle.
