Stopped in this small diner on North Broadway on a Tuesday morning about 8:30 AM - good group of people were in the diner - I seated myself at a table and was promptly greeted by the waitress - she too my coffee order while i checked the menu - I ordered a meat lovers omelet ( ham, sausage, bacon and cheddar cheese ) that came with hash browns and toast . Food arrived quickly and was hot - waitress checked my coffee cup from time to time - food was good - real bacon in the omelet - price with tax $ 9.63

I first came to the Red Coach for dinner two years ago. I had a mediocre chicken salad in the nearly empty restaurant and was pretty disappointed until I overheard the waitress say that they had a freshly made coconut cream pie. Who could resist that? I had a slice of the very best (and biggest) coconut cream pie I have ever had for a whopping $3.00. I have been back twice and it is just as wonderful as always, although not as large this time. I would definitely recommend stopping in for pie if you are passing through Red Oak on Hwy 34.

Susie's Kitchen

We stopped here for breakfast with friends. Susie's is gone and now it is the Cast Iron Café with new owners. The food was OK - my Swedish pancakes were a bit gummy, but still tasted OK. The sausage was not very good. Service was OK, but they need to work on customer service friendliness and personality.
