I always enjoyed a meal overlooking the marina at Gisborne and Lonestar did not disappoint. Prompt service, pleasant food and attentive staff.

Only came in to try the meatless burger and it was so-so, hardly a gastromic delight, with dark lettuce and pale tomato and a little pickle sauce. $15 for the privilege, but not again less they offer a more appetizing option with chilli, avocado, Cos Lettuce or Rocket, onion, mixed seed buns, peanut sauce, - c'mon the options are endless and your current vegan burger is BORING.
Ruatoria is off SH 35 on the drive round the East Coast to Gisborne - Tripadvisor would not accept Ruatoria but it is Gisborne District. It is not really the sort of place you would visit as a destination. So when we stopped for lunch we were pleasantly surprised to find in the middle of the town a delightful cafe with great cabinet food and prepared meals with chicken and chips a popular takeaway. We ordered hamburgers and they were great â fresh buns with generous fillings and a really juicy pattie. Indeed one of the best hamburgers I have had for a long time and only $6.50. The coffee was quality and could have come from a trendy city cafe. All this along with truly friendly service from lovely people. They also have an excellent display of quality craft work for sale so take some time to make a purchase. So if you are drive round the cape and want brunch or lunch do make an effort to stop at Sharonâs Village Cafe â I know you will enjoy the experience.
Been here a few times, always very busy, have table service - put your order in, and a table number and they bring it out for you - small children's play ground
