1. Vonderling Wine Farm

14 of us met up at Vonderling Wine Farm, just outside Wellington. We had booked a wine tasting and food platter for the group, and invited other friends to join us. It was one of the last hot sunny days of the summer - so they sat us all inside! With a bit of help and encouragement, we all moved our table outside - the views are lovely across the Wellington Valley.The wine for this farm is great - medium priced, and definitely some that I will be buying in the future. But the food platter that came with it was poor and expensive relative to what was provided, and I'd recommend others to avoid the platters, and just go for the wine tasting. The service was ok, but there was no real explanation of what the wines were, how they were made, and what to expect, so the team here have a long way to go compared to other wine estates where they talk about the wines with a depth of knowledge.

We went to Ridgebacks as we wanted to get out of the City. Upon our arrival we walked through the wine tasting area and arrived on the deck next to the dam. The ducks and swans was beautiful and they created an atmosphere of relaxation. We ordered a platter with cheese and jams and enjoyed the calm thoroughly. The staff was friendly and the food was very nice.

Been here a few times already, but today's visit was totally amazing. Had 'The Chihuahua' breakfast which consists of two slices of toast with smashed avo and two poached eggs.ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!Delicious and beautifully presented, these guys know how to keep patrons happy.
