If you are ever close to Piedras Blancas, you have to come. We go quite often and love it. It's a wine bar but even the tap beer is brilliant. And not to mention the 'pincho'.... it is amazing how elaborated they are and always very tasty. Quality.

La Marina is a fantastic little wine bar. It is very nicely decorated and has a warm feeling to it. There is ample selection of quality Spanish wines to choose from though you are not limited to only wine as good beers and spirits are also on offer. The tapas here are excellent and I would highly recommend the "lomos de atun" however, the home made "callos" are a must. You can either sit outside or stay inside, but nonetheless the atmosphere of the bar is something to envy. The owners are excellent hosts, they are very welcoming and each time I have gone there I have felt at home. All in all, the combination of the people, location, atmosphere and the quality of food makes this bar/restaurant a northern Spanish gem.

Located in the heart of Aviles, just a few meters from City Hall and the popular Galiana Street, in front of the famous Church of St. Francisco. Distributed in two spacious floors, where casks and bottles of cider still have a major role in our furniture
We stumbled across Tierra Astur by accident on a visit to Aviles, which is in itself a great city to visit. We sat outside and enjoyed the street life enjoying our meal with well-priced house wine. (I can't drink cider after a misspent youth growing up in Somerset) and had a great meal with wonderful service. It wasn't until one of wandered inside to use the facilities that we realised how cool it was. Massive cider barrels everywhere, huge bottle displays on the ceilings, open kitchens, secluded dining rooms upstairs and open cider tables. All in all a brilliant place thoroughly recommended and amazingly good value. Watch out for the waiters pouring cider for customers. At first, I thought it was a cheesy trick. They basically hold the glass as low as possible and pour with the bottle held as high as possible, often looking straight ahead. Over the course of the week though we noticed locals performing a less extreme version of this everywhere. Must be an Asturian thing. Pretty cool though to watch.
