Find out what Wine Bar restaurants to try in Kilkenny. Kilkenny is over 400 years old, but it sure doesn’t show its age. Yes, it's an awe-inspiring throng of medieval cathedrals, castles, abbeys and other massive stone buildings, but Kilkenny loves to party. An endless stream of arts festivals celebrating theater, comedy, bluegrass and dance is constantly pumping the city with new life, toe-tapping energy and international flavor.

Visiting Kilkenny on a Sunday and checked times to eat in various places. This place had closeing time of 23.00. Though it unusual but turned up at 20.30 to be abruptly told they were closed. It's not just the incorrect time they advertise but the lack of manners it the way I was dismissed.Hi, many thanks for your review. We understand that it was approx. 21:15 when you arrived at Rive Gauche and we had just stopped taking orders as there were no customers in our bar and restaurant. We do hope that you can understand that there is quite a substantial cost to keeping a restaurant open without any customers dining. I'm sorry that you were disappointed and I do hope that we can welcome you back to dine with us at a future date. All the best,

The Grapevine Tapas Bar is Kilkenny's favourite casual dining venue.Great food, music and service.
After 900pm on a Wednesday there wsnt much open. The service was friendly and the food was fine- not great, but frankly when I think of Ireland Tapas isnt what comes to mind. Had a selection of things from shrimp to crostini to greek salad to grilled veggies and a couple more. 5 in total + bottle of wine for 64e. We left full. No real complaints just werent wowed by anything we ate

We were recommended to go here for a drink by our Airbnb hosts as they said that the pub part, âCarollâsâ had recently reopened. We had such a lovely evening, the atmosphere was great and there was even someone in there playing a guitar and singing. We discovered that they did food as âToastâ, previously situated around the corner, so we decided to nurse our hangovers with a breakfast...an excellent decision. The food was lovely, well presented and we didnât have to wait long. The staff were really friendly made us feel at home. We even found that the atmosphere, although different from the night before, was just as lovely and welcoming. We returned a couple of days later and had the burrito.....again, superb, fresh and filling! If, or when, we return to Thomastown weâll definitely be back for drinks in the evening and a cure in the morning ;-)Many thanks.
