Wine shop and wine bar, nice selection of wines produced with grapes, and also some spirits, tastings with local charcuteries and cheeses (11,00 EUR up to 20,00 EUR), We speak well english, a bit in german and a lot in french about wines. Open 7/7 lately

I've been looking forward to coming back here. This a place for people who want to know more about the local wines and foods. We all had a local wine, which Patrice (the owner) told us about where and how it was grown. Patrice is the font of all knowledge on the wines, meats and cheeses he supplies. This is a really lovely place to sit sipping a glass of wine with some local cheese. Again this is a MUST for me every time i'm in Chinon.Hi Richard,Thank tou so much for your pleasant comment, you'll always be welcome at "La cave Voltaire" Patrice.

Chinon isn't exactly short of places to eat and drink ranging from top-flight cuisine to simple but delicious pizzas. But what hasn't been available is somewhere in the centre of town, that concentrates mostly on Chinon appellation wines and with just simple fare, charcuterie and cheese. La Cabane à Vins opened a few months ago. It is found alongside the town hall, with places to sit outside as well as inside. Cases of wine can be bought on site, or by the glass as we did yesterday, when we stopped there for a light lunch with friends who are visiting. La Cabane à Vin is built around a simple idea of wine and food, for which the town is renowned. In such a competitive market however it isn't always easy to find a niche. La Cabane à Vin has done that and fills it with good produce. It's also fairly priced. Four of us had two different glasses of wine each and shared a plate of charcuterie with lovely fresh bread, which came to Euros 9 per person. Definitely worth a visit.

La Cave des Silènes is the wine bar of the Domaine Charles Joguet, where you can find our wines, and if you are hungry you can stopand enjoy them with some bruschettas or salads. You can also enjoy a glass of wine from other domains found in the Loire Val

Beautiful surroundings, welcoming interior and a good stock of Chinon wines of Joguet plus a wider variety from around the Loire. We had a brilliant tutored tasting with terroir varieties covered including sandy, clay and gravel soils all producing different wines from a single vintage. Not the cheapest Chinon wines but possibly the best!
