Belmont is a small suburban city in Gaston County, North Carolina, United States, located about 15 miles (24 km) west of uptown Charlotte and 9 miles (14 km) east of Gastonia. The population was 10,076 at the 2010 census. Once known as Garibaldi Station, the name change for Belmont is disputed. Some say it was named for a prominent New York banker - August Belmont. Others contend the Pope ordered the abbot of the monastery to change the name since he would not tolerate an abbey in a place that bore the Garibaldi name. The abbot could see Crowder's mountain from the property and named the town Belmont - "beautiful mountain". Belmont is home to Belmont Abbey College.

Tonight we drove by what we thought might be a nice little wine bar. We parked and walked across the street to visit the "wine bar". When we got there it was 9:30 and they were locking the doors. I looked up at the door and saw the hours listed. Saturday night open till 10pm, so I said oh they are still open for 30 mins and then someone said "no we're closed". Guess we won't be going back!

We have been here a number of times, at first after opening the service was slow, food pretty good. My husband loves this place, so we continue to give it chances, now the salads are okay, burgers way over cooked, Fried chicken salty, soup way too salty, flat breads overcooked...After several months service is still very slow. Even when not busy. They have a bartender who is exceedingly unpleasant. They have a wonderful venue and interesting menu, really need to be managed much better.

The restaurant looked like a nice change from the fast food selections at the airport, however in retrospect we should have gone someplace else. My daughter and I both ordered salads, one with âgrilledâsteak the other with âgrilledâ chicken. The meat was inedible. I donât know if it was microwaved or what but awful. My daughter tried to eat around the meat but said it made her feel ill. I looked for our waiter to bring her a glass of club soda and bitters to calm her stomach but he was no where to be found. So I walked to the bar and to add insult to injury they actually charged me almost $4 for a glass of club soda. I recognize this was an airport restaurant but I would never eat there again.
