So I came here based on reviews...what a mistake. The two âwaitersâ look more like dish washers that should be working in the back...saggy pants, shirts untucked and clueless. I ordered the Pho...which was actually good. However they did not give me a spoon...how do you eat Pho with no spoon? Finally flagged down one of the dish washer/ waiters and got a spoon. When I was ready to leave there was no one in the kitchen area or public area besides other guests eating. I was not the only one ready to leave as another guest went and found someone and told them she wanted her bill. I finally got my bill and I gave him my $$ and parking card...he returned my change and walked away...but no parking card. I had to go track them down to get my parking card. If this is supposed to be high-end Pho this place is a joke.

This restaurant is in the Costco parking lot in Fullerton. It is like the McDonald's of Vietnamese food, but in a good way. The food is tasty, and the service is efficient. They have lots of selections on the counter for take away, and they are fresh and look pleasing to the eye. I especially love their takeaway french roll sandwiches. Wow! The grilled pork is excellent, with fresh cilantro and jalapeno! Amazing! I love their spring rolls and their egg rolls. I especially love the sticky rice with sausage on top. They offer half price pho as well, and although it is not the best pho I have ever had, you can't beat it for the price! Prices here are excellent. If you buy two sandwiches, you get the third one for free. You can buy a sandwich here for $2.75 which is a very budget lunch. I love this place, and the girls who work at the takeaway counter are always friendly and quick. Their drinks are also excellent. Definitely try this restaurant, you will be able to eat a lot of great Vietnamese food, at a great price!
Pho 88 is situated in one section of a strip mall. It has a good amount of natural light to bathe the interior. The interior is no nonsense, something that won't make you remember the decor. Like many Chinese and Vietnamese eateries you come for the food, not the ambiance. Pho 88 does have a menu that on your first visit may take a bit of perusing of decide what you want. The (beef) Pho was good with plenty of noodles plus the expected goodies. Now this is not as good as my favorite place up in the Bay Area but it satisfies the tummy. The Mi Xao Ga was decent and one of the plates that ventures toward the Chinese side of food and preparation. The Com Suon Nuong or grilled pork chop rice plate wasn't as successful in comparison to our standard up north. Cannot fault the Viet iced coffee or the Thai iced tea. Restaurant staff is quiet and unobtrusive. The clientele while we were visiting was varied and probably 75% filled. Everyone has their favorites when it comes to food but Pho 88 is worth checking out.
