This little restaurant is a real gem. The food is delicious and it is priced right (inexpensively). The soups and salads are delicious, as are the entrees. It is a comfortable place, not fancy, but functional- just like the food-not fancy, but yummy.

This little storefront restaurant is the real deal. It has been our family's go-to Thai place for years. It is family-owned and they are welcoming to whomever walks through the door, whether you are a regular or a first timer. With less than 10 tables, it is small. The decor is very simple, but you are there for the great food. So, who cares. They do a vast majority of their sales in takeout, it seems. It is a BYOB, but I love their teas and Thai iced coffee. One of my colleagues at work is a native of Thailand and swears by this place. This and you often see Thai families seated at the "long table" in the restaurant. The menu is a combination of Thai and Chinese dishes. They are all about catering to the neighborhood. That's the reason for the Chinese, I think. They also keep the dishes quite mild, compared to a native Thai person's taste. However, I regularly order mine "Thai hot." I love it. It's not for the uninitiated. You have to convince them that's how you really like it however. The staff really want you to have a good experience and are reluctant to make it too hot. None of us in our family have had anything we don't like. From the Tom Yum or Tom Kha soups, to Chicken Satay, to the noodle or rice centric entrees. It's hard to go wrong. My daughter's favorite is Pad Thai. My favorite is the "Crazy Noodles, Thai hot." For a change, I think the Chicken with Basil is great, too. It's a small neighborhood spot in a small strip mall at Touhy and Harlem, but it's as good as you can get in the Chicagoland area. Really.

I have been going to Siam House for Lunch Buffet for years. Small selection but good selection. Their Basil Chicken became my wifes favorite. I perdsonsally love big/thick noodles so their Fun Chow/Pad sei ewe is great. Their eggs rolls are great with a really good dipping sauce. A great place for lunch!!!
