Moka is a village in Mauritius located in the Moka District, the western part of the village also lies in the Plaines Wilhems District. The village is administered by the Moka Village Council under the aegis of the Moka District Council. According to the census made by Statistics Mauritius in 2011, the population was at 8,846. The elevation is 203 meters and can be up to 425 meters in some places. Moka is directly on the other side of the Moka Range from Port Louis. The village is close to the mountain Le Pouce and the town Beau-Bassin Rose-Hill. Réduit is a suburb of the village where the State House and University of Mauritius is situated. The village is also home to the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation and the Mahatma Gandhi Institute.

Saturday dinner, 20.oo hrs. Only two or three tables occupied.Our party arrived with children and we walked for ten meter inside the restaurant to face the two stationary waiting staff. No eye contact, no welcome, no smile - a usual scene in bad/mediocre eateries in Mauritius today. We explained that we had no booking... the inhospitable unkind looking young lady told us to seat at a banquette.We explained that we would have preferred to use normal chairs. We were told that the many empty table with chairs were only for four persons. We asked if it was possible to join two tables for all of us to seat properly. "Pas possible".We informed the young lady that in this case we had to look for another restaurant.No reply. We walked away. We passed by 1 1/2 hrs later.... the restaurant was almost empty. I wonder why!!!!!

The card is large, the food is good.You can eat Asian, Indian, Local and grillMy favorite, was lamb shops with purée (mash potatoes)But we also have eat very nice curry and rougaille

If you are in the Ebene area then this is a good option. Simple and basic Indian food but tasty and well made. Makes a nice change if you are staying at the nearby Hennessey hotel.
