Pleasant discovery during our weekend in Marseille! My girlfriend is coeliac and we went 'Aux Antipodes' after reading they could cater for allergies. The food is cooked fresh and the menu varies on a daily basis, and although they don't have a specific gluten free menu, the owner was extremely attentive: after explaining him what she couldn't eat he was happy to adapt. We had caipirinhas for aperitive, a 'tour du monde' starter platter, and for main a Tuna tataki and a Picanha dish. Since my gf couldn't eat the fried items in the platter, the owner was very kind and specially brought some 'pão de queijo' (brazilian cheese dough made from tapioca starch) specially for her. Everything was delicious! Strongly recommend!

We arrived a bit late in the restaurant, but they accepted to serve us. First of all, no veggie options on the menu except a starter which was a lentil soup and the desserts. I am surprised because the chef seems to work with lots of ingredients suitable for veggie people. We asked the waitress if she can suggest, change or remove something from a dish and she seemed to agree. Then the chef came, angry, saying that he can't do anything for us, moaning it was too late and that we should have booked earlier and tell him we were veggie before coming. He asked us if we like eggs. Then he left, we didn't know what we were going to have.Bad way to consider us. We wanted to leave. But we ordered, it was late and our non veggie friends were starving so...The waitress came with a proper veggie dish for me and a regular dish for my veggie friend saying he just need to remove the shrimps and the nems!!!!!! They are not really aware of what being veggie means here...Finally he cooked us something nice but charged us the same price as a non veggie dish. We felt non respected and hosted in a very bad way just because we are different, their attitude was not professional, and it makes me feel sad like many restos in France, vegetarian are not considered the way they should be.
