Reviews on Thai food in Indian Trail, North Carolina, United States. Indian Trail is a suburban town in Union County, North Carolina, United States. Founded on March 12, 1861, the town holds a history of traders traveling along the "Indian Trail," which ran from Petersburg, Virginia, to the Waxhaw Indians, and gold mining. Indian Trail was first a farming community; however, German and Scot-Irish settlers began to move into the area due to its geographical location. In 1874, the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad was built between the cities Charlotte, North Carolina and Monroe, North Carolina. The railroad, which runs through the town, brought prosperity to the area. Indian Trail was incorporated as a town in 1907, with established city limits based upon a one-half mile radius from the intersection of Indian Trail Road and the Seaboard Railroad. Indian Trail has grown rapidly in the 21st Century: a 2011 CNN article stated that Indian Trail's census count jumped from 1,942 in 1990 to 33,518 in 2010. Every Fourth of July the town holds an annual parade which is one of the biggest parades in the Charlotte metropolitan area.
Things to do in Indian Trail
Rude staff and poor service and food quality. The host was taking an order at a booth located near the entrance. He appeared to ignore us...did not offer us seating for several minutes. The place had only 3 tables occupied so many seat were available. After about 5 minutes.,he walked us towards the back and told us to seat at a booth... he kept walking on.We waited TWENTY minutes before he returned to ask what we wanted to drink.Yes 20 minutes...If we didn't have a GROUPON we would have left! The spring rolls were very hot, but very hard..cabbage was raw inside. The pork fried rice was not appealing at all.tasted like steamed..colorlessexcept for a few chopped tomatoes..was sticky and tasted steamed.not fried.. no peas carrots or eggs..very spicey in flavor. The pad krapraw was tasty but seemed a bit off as well. The waiter did refill drinks when asked. The service was poor and food was not good.Do not recommend and will not return.Should have donated this Groupon to the trash.

Tamarind has undergone a bit of a recent transformation in that it is no longer serving indian food, and has moved to serving Thai cuisine instead. The thing customers don't understand is that the high quality indian spices and ingredients that tamarind used are very expensive, and without the clientele to justify continuing to prepare those meals, they had to make a decision to change things up. I do think Tamarind probably belongs in a different location where the clientele would better appreciate it, like in Southpark, SouthEnd, or even uptown, but I digress. The pat thai and the pat see ew were fantastic, and I would highly recommend.
