We haven't been to Lai Thai for a while - - no particular reason we stopped coming. Currently, there are several other Thai options close by. We have tried most - in comparison to the others, this is good / average. It seems to be consistent from what I remember from previous visits. We had Chicken Pad Thai carry out, medium spicy. The chicken tasted as though it was added at the end and hadn't absorbed much of the spiciness.

Hands down the best Thai in town. Its a family business and all staff are super friendly and polite. Unfortunately that means they are closed on Sundays.Fresh ingredients - one way you can be sure is when you taste their baby corn. Many Thai (and Chinese) restaurants use canned baby corn and it always has this distinct taste. But one bite into these dishes and you can tell the difference- fresh snap peas, corn and bamboo. Food is full of flavor, and when they spicy it IS spicy. I have tried the noodle and rice dishes and all of them were distinct and delicious. Plenty of vegetarian options - they even substitute the fish sauce, oyster sauce and shrimp paste for you - without compromising on the flavors. Ask for tofu to get your daily dose of protein! They have some issues with card payments and some extra charges for service/administrative fee. Just pay in cash!

This is a newer restaurant in Canton and this was our first dining experience here. We ordered carry out - Mee Ga-Thi and Basil Fried Rice. Both dishes are listed on the menu as spicy. We do like spicy food and requested medium spice - this was just right for us. We'll be back for more Thai and to try the sushi. Note: Dine-in us also an option. They are open everyday for lunch and dinner - closed from 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm.
