Shintori

Hidden amongst crowded city dwells, there is a new space full of quietness. Coarse stones and rough mortar surpass all luxury décor of the vanity world. A bamboo garden of 300 bamboo trees, hidden inside a mortar gate without any sign, is to welcome all c

You can easily see this will be an amazing dining experience upon walking into this restaurant. The entrance walkway is absolutely beautiful. You walk through a forest of artfully placed bamboo as you approach the entrance and it prepares you for what's to come inside the restaurant itself. The decor is very modern, minimalist, and visually pleasing. We were seated upstairs where we had a GREAT view of the open kitchen. We started with sashimi appetizers: Hamachi, Maguro, and Toro. The fish was truly excellent! And presented so beautifully. We enjoyed several different dishes and ended with a very tasty beef sukiyaki that you cook table side. This was a great evening and we will definitely be back! This is definitely an upscale experience.

ZIPANGU

Zipangu offers a modern Japanese “izakaya” dining experience. The term “izakaya” is a combination of two Japanese words: “i” meaning “to stay” and “zakaya” meaning “sake shop”. The restaurant is a casual dining concept that appeals to young professionals

My company had booked us a table for 2 at the Nadaman restaurant within the impressive Shangri-La hotel. Located on the 2nd floor, you really do have a feeling of entering a little corner of Japan. The decor is very authentic.I waited at the desk at the entrance to be brought to my table but the young lady was quite engrossed in doing something on an electronic device. But my dining companion noticed that I had arrived and took me to our reserved table. We both scoured the menu and decided against the set menus in favour of our own selection from the a la carte. We ended up choosing fish based dishes including cod (delicious but mini portion), assorted tempura, tuna & salmon sushi and sweet shrimp. For drinks we shared a small bottle of sake. Our waitress was a very young lady dressed in a beautiful kimono. She helped us with our choice in a very polite and discreet manner, including suggesting that our initial attempt at selecting our meal would not be much. Having said that, with a bill around the equivalent of 180 Euro, I was shocked given that the quantity of food we ate was very modest to say the least, but then this is within the 5 star luxury of the Shangri-La hotel...Dear Eyekaytoo,Thank you for visiting Nadaman and sharing your experience here with us. Indeed prices at Nadaman may run on the high side due to the high quality fresh ingredients used that are air-flown from Japan, but we are delighted that you have enjoyed the dining experience, enhanced by our team member. We however apologise for the lack of attention you received upon entering the restaurant, and will take measures to ensure that does not happen again. Thank you once again for your feedback and we look forward to welcoming you back with elevated levels of service. Kind regardsTeresa KohCommunications Manager
