When we had 1.5 hours to kill before my daughter had to board the Megabus, we decided to have dinner at Texas Roadhouse. We love our local Roadhouse in Dickson City PA. It was a Monday evening, and the restaurant was not busy. Our server Ashley quickly got our drinks and our orders. We all ordered our favorites. Things seemed to be going fine. But it took FOREVER for our meals to come. And when they did, we had to rush to eat them so we'd make it to the Megabus stop on time. Even worse, the meals that our Dickson CIty Roadhouse makes so wonderfully were not good here. The steak ordered medium arrived very well done and actually was cold. The fillet that we agreed to butterfly was okay in spots and overcooked in others. The All-American cheeseburger had some grizzly spots in it and wasn't nearly as flavorful as the ones we order at our local Roadhouse. And because we needed to rush off to the Megabus stop, we didn't even have time to get our food "fixed". $67 + tip later, we felt like we had wasted our money and our last precious bit of time with our daughter before she headed back to college.I hope it was just a bad night for this Roadhouse. This isn't our typical experience at other Texas Roadhouse restaurants we've visited.

We stopped in for dinner while staying overnight in the State College area. It was a Thursday night and were seated right away. The draft beers were cold. The dinners we had, both a beef/steak type dinners were well prepared and good tasting. The waitress was very attentive to our needs and did a good job. We will stop in again when in the area

Hoss's Steak & Sea House

I think this is one of the older Hoss's Restaurants, but it is still very nice inside. Impressed with the sign stating that restaurant has given over $100,000 to local charities. All Hoss's will frequently have a night for a charity in which a generous portion of the proceeds are given to a specific charity. Good deed! Food was very good. Leah, a very young waitress was exceptional. It does make me nervous when a waitress does not write down the order, and walks away to place the order in the kitchen by memory. She got everything right, but I see no good purpose in doing it this way. We've never met a Hoss's that we didn't like. TO THE MAIN OFFICE, BRING BACK MY FAVORITE 6 OUNCE SIRLOIN TIPS.
