Skopelos is one of several islands which comprise the Northern Sporades island group, which lies east of the Pelion peninsula on the mainland and north of the island of Euboea. It is part of the Thessaly region. Skopelos is also the name of the main port and the municipal center of the island. The other communities of the island are Glossa and Neo Klima (Elios). The geography of Skopelos includes two mountains over 500 m (1,640 ft); Delphi (681 m/2,234 ft) in the center of the island, and Palouki (546 m/1,791 ft) in the southeast. With an area of 96 square kilometres (37 sq mi) Skopelos is slightly larger than Mykonos (85 km/33 sq mi) and Santorini (73 km/28 sq mi). The nearest inhabited islands are Skiathos to the west and Alonissos to the east.

This authentic grill restaurant in Glossa is the perfect choice for the meatlovers...If you love meat, there is nothing much to say, just go and enjoy yourself in this family grill-house...Very high quality meat, very tasty...You wont be dissapointed...A very good alternative for the seafood restaurants in the island...My secret tip: With your meat, ask for the natural dry wild thyme, collected from the mountains of the island...Meat with wild dry thyme is a perfect combination...

Itâs a long hike up to the top of Glossa village to the square but definitely worth it! Tables are set across the square outside the local church and it is usually full of families gorging themselves on salads and local speciality dishes such as Moussaka and Souvlaki. You get a very friendly welcome and they go out of their way to accommodate you even if they appear to be full. The brilliant atmosphere is further enhanced by some musicians strumming various instruments and singing traditional GREEK SONGS, Yes, even the theme tune to Fiddler on the Roof but happily no smashed plates! A great night out where you will feel like a local and enjoy the special atmosphere.
