When we want to enjoy good, local, Schwäbisch food which we know will be cooked and served well, we head for the excellent hotel in the centre of the pretty village of Braunsbach. Its especially lovely in summer as a stopping point along the Kocher cycle way (highly recommended by the way) to sit in the centrally located beer garden and enjoy the convivial atmosphere and wonderful menu specials. The service is always friendly and welcoming, we have even considered buying a house in this village because we love the neighbourly spirit and good eating places here :)

While on a business trip in Crailsheim, we were always looking for different places to eat (there aren't many to choose from!). Since we were staying at the Stadthotel, the young lady at the front desk recommended that we try it one evening. My colleagues and I were able to walk from the hotel to the restaurant. When we arrived we were seated promptly. Apparently, we have "American" or "Foreigner" tattooed on our foreheads because we were quite the sideshow as we made it to our table. It was quite amusing. We even had a great conversation with the group next to us, as it seemed that curiosity finally got the best of them and they asked where we were from. The atmosphere inside is warm and comforting with a rustic feel to it. I ordered the pork shoulder on special and it was very good. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and it was nice to connect with the locals.

Absolutely top quality steak in Germany!! I had the T-bone, since I was having withdrawals from steak in South Africa. It comes with a side and sauce. Was delicious and perfectly cooked medium rare. My boyfriend had the fillet. Perfectly cooked as well and so tender. Wonderful evening and best steak!
