At the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 2,135. It is the county seat of Atlantic County. The community was named for Captain George May, who sailed the Great Egg Harbor River in 1740, and purchased land in the area in 1756.

Place was packed but we registered online so once we arrived only had to wait about ten minutes. Service and food were very good..food actually came out hot considering how busy it was. Sirloin was tender and loved the mixed vegetables. Everyone enjoyed their dinner.

Ok, so who orders Shrimp Scampi at a steakhouse? Pescatarians, thatâs who! What is one to do? The smell of Prime Rib permeates the place! The End Cut was very good, flavorful & tender. The Shrimp Scampi entree at $19.95 was scimpy, oily, tough and microwaved to the the point that it congealed. Salad bar, with the exception of the store bought bitter coke slaw and brown iceberg lettuce, excellent. The star of the show was the creamed spinach side at $5.00.

Ordered from specials menu with a side of angel hair. Angel hair was small portion and I was charged $13.50. I felt this was overboard. I live in the area, but won't hurry back because though the quality was great, the pricing is out of line.
