Iâve eaten here several times with family, and itâs always been good. Donât expect gourmet fare; itâs solid food thatâs prepared well. I donât eat much red meat, but the salmon has always been cooked perfectly. Their rolls are addictive, so be careful! They have steak, chicken, ribs and salmon, and the sides include baked and sweet potatoes, sautéed vegetables, green beans and corn, as well as others. Be careful if you donât tolerate MSG; their lemon pepper seasoning contains it, and their green beans have a very heavy smokiness, which could come from liquid smoke. Just ask your server. They are very accommodating, and there are plenty of menu items for those, like me, who have dietary issues. The manager on duty has always checked on us at the end of every mealâa nice touch, which Iâm sure helps maintain their consistency.

I normally do not review a restaurant a second time. However, when things go downhill from only three stars, I owe it to my readers to expose this. My wife ordered the Swordfish Stew and Cobb Salad. I ordered fish and chips. The Swordfish stew was 98% Swordfish-free advertising hype. It should have been called tomato soup. Edible, but not stew by any stretch of the imagination. Fish might have been the fifth or sixth ingredient. The Fish and chips should have been called chips and fish. The fries were moderately crispy but horribly oversalted. Plenty of them, which is good because the fish portion may have weighed only two ounces. Honestly, it was about five bites. On top of that, you expect breaded fried fish to be crispy. Not here. I have to believe they steamed it, instead of frying. The batter was rubbery, and soggy, and not with dripping oil. No, soggy dripping with water! Wow. How on earth does a restaurant get by selling foo foo portions of soggy steamed fish? Two decades ago, I had great salmon at Mariscos, but I think that chef is long gone. I will not be back to J Wilsons, which is pretty bad since we had a gift card to cover our meal.Thank you for taking time to write your review. We did not give you our best that is for sure. I am so sorry. Please know that I take your comments very seriously. Since tour visit , we have changed up our Fish and Chips and changed our menu to reflect the new season. Of course we would love for you to give us another try so we can show you who we really are. Should you decide to come back, I encourage you to try our salmon dish. I would love to follow up with you in person if you would like to shoot me an email with your contact information. [email protected] Most sincerely, Nancy Renfro, Owner/Operator

Dining with a group, pretty much open budget.Waitress was not busy, we ordered Campari and soda, and vodka martini up, 3 olives.About 10 minutes later, manager comes up to confirm 'Campari', as waitress didn't know. After another wait, finally got our drinks; mine was warm-ish, in a rocks glass (colder than the drink), with 3 olives speared on a 5 inch pick. You could put your eye out with that thing!Needless to say, that was the only martini I ordered.6 Cents is leaving a lot of money on the table with terrible bar service.
