Find out what Steakhouse restaurants to try in Kassel. Dating from at least the 10th century, today Kassel is most famous internationally as the home of Documenta, an every-five-years exhibition of modern and contemporary art. In the late 17th century Kassel received a large influx of Huguenot refugees from France. During the 1800s, it became the capital of the Brothers Grimm's Fairy Tale Route. In 1943, the city was virtually razed by British bombers, leaving few old sights, but the 18th-century Wilhelmshöhe Castle overlooking the city remains.

The Argentinian Steakhaus NAIS has been a favorite of mine for several years now. It is a very friendly place with very good ambiante. The owner receives his guests with handshake and seems to look after your orders personally. He remembered me from last year's visit so well that I even got the same table again. And I don't mean one of those 2-chair tables away in a corner that many restaurants seem to have reserved for solo guests. Unlike that "Filet gourmand" disaster that happened to me in Reims, France, see review of AUX COTEAUX, I had the finest, tenderest "Filetsteak" that you can imagine, for the most reasonable sum of EUR 20.50. That left room for half a dozen Burgundy snails, a glass of Argentinian red wine, Mendoza, and vanilla icecream with whipped cream on top. Total bill was EUR 33.00.NAIS also serves other dishes as well as buffet, [no fish] but for me it is the filet steak that I go there. Altogether a well spent hour. Service is prompt and friendly. I like those upturned milking buckets they use as ceiling lamps. Now that's different! No problem going back there next time. Love the place!

The food is good. The service varies depending on the day you go. Some days it is ok service, other days it is slow. The food is ok. It lacks in consistency. One day my burger and our wings we excellent and on another visit they were very average. The menu is authentic but as said fails to deliver. And the venue itself lacks any character... However given the lack of competition there is little alternatives if you want a supposed Diner.

Never before have I tried crocodile or kangaroo meat!It was really strange. Actually conserning kangaroo I was not sure if it is ok to eat it from the ethical point of view. But the hostess was really nice and it could be seen that she really loves her business and tries to arrange things in the best way possible for her clients. She was polite enough to explain the way the stones the meat is prepared on are heat before they come to the table. She also gave us a piece of advise of what meat is better to try.You can taste so many kinds of exotic meat here! It is quite a unique experience. And it was really tasty.the price is qute high but it is understandable when looking at the types of meat set in the menu. So, the place is deffinetely worth a try!
