The town is 34.5 miles (55.5 km) southwest of London in the extreme west of Surrey, adjacent to the border with Hampshire. By road, Guildford is 11 miles (17 km) to the east and Winchester a further 28 miles (45 km) along the same axis as London. Farnham is the largest town in Waverley, and one of the five largest conurbations in Surrey. It is of historic interest, with many old buildings, including a number of Georgian houses. Farnham Castle overlooks the town. A short distance southeast of the town centre are the ruins of Waverley Abbey, Moor Park House and Mother Ludlam's Cave. Farnham is twinned with Andernach in Germany. It is drained by the River Wey (North Branch) which is navigable only to canoes at this point.

We had three Sunday Roasts - one chicken two beef - and two rump steaks. Service was excellent, staff really lovely and attentive even when it got busier as lunchtime went on. A good well chosen and reasonable wine list. Highly recommended. Portions and quality of food was excellent, as you can see from our photos!

Happened to be passing and thought we would pop in for lunch. We both went for the upgrade sirloin steak chips and peasIt was beautiful....Done to perfection and not a bit of gristle. Which for under £10 is marvellous. Waitress very pleasant.Surroundings very clean and tidy.....We shall certainly go again....great value for money

The day after Boxing Day, having booked our table,we turned up with a party of 12 relatives,3 children under six....to be faced by people walking out, one man telling us not to go inside.They had waited 1. 1/2 hours for their food,others had sent theirs back cold.we checked out the restaurant to find people milling around,no-one had any food, one meal was being served.Chaos!checked with the only waitress we could find,who told us they had technical problems, food would be at least 1 1/2 hours.Apparently the manager was trying to cook?No-one to be found to help,so we left.we then returned home to cook a very belated meal.The experience was abysmal, considering the importance restaurants place on bookings being kept! We will not return,and we will warn others!
