Find out what Spanish restaurants to try in West Chester. The borough of West Chester is proud of its long history of hospitality, having hosted its first visitors way back in 1769. These colonial roots still show, with over 3,000 surviving structures dating from before the Revolutionary War. The tree-lined downtown area is listed on The National Register of Historic Places, with such a large collection of Greek Revival buildings that the town was named Athens of the West. It's the perfect place for a relaxing day spent walking and window-shopping.

We have become semi-regulars now and we love El Limon. They offer consistently fresh, delicious, well prepared food. They now have fountain soda (Coca Cola products) which I appreciate. We have the same server almost every time and he is polite, respectful, friendly and attentive. The food comes out quickly and it is always fresh and served at the correct temperature. There are two small tvs in the dining area. It's a casual place so it wouldn't be good for a fancy get together or a special occasion. It's more so for every day dining when you are in the mood for good Mexican food. The nachos are always delicious. They always have more toppings though and never enough chips. No one ever gets the ratio right. It's either too many chips and not enough toppings or tons of toppings and not enough chips. One time we asked for more chips, which we were brought, but when our bill arrived we realized we were charged for them. It wasn't a huge deal but I think we should have been told there was a charge. The cheese enchiladas are soooo good. Just the right cheese to tortilla ratio. The tomatillo sauce is extremely flavorful. The rice and beans are also good! My man usually gets a burrito. He doesn't like their sauces too much so he goes with a dry burrito so he can also hold it instead of cutting it up. They have single stall bathrooms. They look and smell clean. Open kitchen concept. Kitchen and dining areas also very clean. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Taco Mar

Wonderful Mexican eatery in West Chester. The owner has done an excellent job taking his culinary experiences from Mexico and the Southern US and turning them into an amazing menu of wonderful options. The burritos are great as are the tacos. So many variations to choose from. The chips and salsa trio comes with some great sauces that you have to try. It's definitely for 2 people to share as many dishes come with chips. The restaurant has a nice selection of mild, medium and hot sauces which are tasty and, sounds silly but, kept in squeeze bottles which is so much better than those taco places with big open containers of condiments with who knows what dropping in there. Great idea! The chicken tacos and the pork tacos are great. It gets pretty crowded right a noon so go before or after. They are open for dinner and are BYOB. Prices are very reasonable. It's the owners working at lunch so say hello - they're very nice people.Enjoy!!

I am not sure what the fuss is with this place. My husband and I had dinner here after a friend told me it was good place. We sat at our table for 20 minutes without service before having to flag someone down for it. They did comp us each a glass of wine for this. We had four courses and the food was mediocre at best. The lamb meatballs were bland, the stuffed chicken came with 2 pieces, mine was overcooked and my husbands was under cooked. The eggplant manicotti was drenched with boring tomato sauce, and the beer fondue was OK, but also bland. They charge outrageous prices for the amount of food you get. Everything is meant to be shared and there isn't even enough food in some of these dishes to share. The service (once we got any) was not great. The restaurant is very small and they have packed as many small tables as possible into it, to the point that it is difficult for anyone to walk around without having to bump into someone in a chair or wait to move. Because it is tapas, your dishes do not come out all at once so people were running around constantly. The servers look stressed out trying not to run into other people. It was not a relaxing or inviting experience being cramped in such a tiny space. I will never eat here again nor recommend others to either.
