We went after a road trip, based on a friend's suggestion and sat at the counter. The soup was a rich bone broth, full of flavor, potatoes. My oxtail stew was delicious, with rice and beans. Husband had the mofongo which we were trying for the first time, very heavy and filling. We brought half our meals home, huge portions, along with tres leches cake. Glad to have an authentic eatery frequented by the locals.

Friends invited us to join them for dinner and brought us here. They had been wanting to eat at Communal Kitchen for a while as they had heard good things about this restaurant. Good news for us was when we walked in, our table was ready...no waiting or artificial seating times here which was great as we were very hungry! We ordered a bunch of appetizers for the table, which we really liked...the spicy meatballs were terrific...and not too spicy for us. The Yucca fries, interesting but not over the top, the burrata was excellent and the candied bacon got inhaled! We tried different entrees too with the short ribs and mac & cheese being our favorites. Overall, we were very pleased with our meal...the service was first rate but not intrusive and the price reasonable for all the food/drink we ordered. Can't wait to go back and try some other dishes...well, we're getting the candied bacon for sure.
