Cute placeLong time since visited lastLovely staffGreat drink. Measured, but en pointe. Food: must have been an off night!Stuffed pepper was supposed to be temp hot with chicken, shrimp, and rice. Rice was okay, 2 morsels of shrimp, dried out brown chicken and a scrap of sausage. Not good. Skimpy. And, it took sooooo long for an app that I could not bear to stay for more. Sorry. Not again, for food. The original parent restaurant that was in New Haven was always superior and a labor of love. Tapas involves a ton of prep and layers of cooking. Not evident at this visit. No value.

Kala, a neighborhood bistro with a friendly, casual vibe and cuisine that elevates comfort food to a new level with global flavors inspired by the best cuisines of the world, and the freshest ingredients sourced locally and from around New England.
There's something endearing about Kala Bistro. Absolutely fell in love with this place on a weeknight visit. You feel as though you've been teleported to a European bistro. The setting is not elaborate, but it is very pleasant with large windows, a mirrored wall and old-time tile floor. Service is impeccable with sincerely friendly servers who understand food. And the food is nothing short of extraordinary. You could order anything on the menu and be fully satisfied and more. Olea, the sister restaurant in New Haven, is very good, but Kala outperforms. You expect to pay for such quality, and you will; this is not an inexpensive night out. One caution: I tried getting here once before and the place is hard to find for non-locals.

This is a great place for dinner. This small, beautiful restaurant is a wonderful choice for couples and small groups. It is quiet, the with timely service, yet relaxed and comfortable. The food was unique, tasty and the presentation was beautiful. I will definitely return.
