Nachdem wir uns jahrelang gefragt haben, was das denn da oben in den Dünen eigentlich für ein riesiges Gebäude ist, sind wir einfach mal hoch gefahren. Zugegeben, man hat einen tollen Blick über die Dünen, den Wald und die Küste. Das Gebäude dient mittlerweile als Hotel und Café-Restaurant. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, Kaffee und Kuchen waren gut. Wir haben uns wie auf einem alten englischen Landsitz gefühlt. Kann man mal machen. Nach unserem Besuch habe ich etwas über das Haus recherchiert. Offenbar baute es ein reicher Geschäftmann als Sommerhaus Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts. Vor und nach dem 2. Weltkrieg diente es als Ferienheim für arme und verwaiste Kinder. Mittlerweile steht es unter Denkmalschutz.

A small restaurant. Very long menu, a varied choice. The menu had no English on it, just Spanish, Dutch and German, but I figured it out eventually! The food quality was excellent and well priced. The staff were very friendly. I recommend booking, it was popular! I will happily go there again. All the food that came to our table was of a high standard, the sharing platter starter easily served 3. I recommend at the end of your meal ordering coffee with the 3 liqueurs!

This is restaurant can compete with the best in The Netherlands.Small dishes with surprisingly delicious combinations, nice and relaxed staff. Aanrader!! Must experience it.
