Assaporando Trattoria

As two families with 4 kids under 10, we appreciated the friendliness of the staff with our kids. They brought puzzles to keep them busy and were understanding about splitting plates of food multiple ways. We ate outside on a very pleasant piazza with very little traffic. The kids ran around in the piazza after they ate, making it a perfect location. While it's true that this place has both Sardinian and Trentino food, there is no "fusion" of the two as far as we could tell. The food was good. The guys in our group had the bottarga pasta, and while both said it was fine, they also noted that it didn't have a lot of flavor. Another in our group took a plate of ravioli, which, unfortunately, were drowning in butter. The kids split burgers. The Australian meat was the best (and the most expensive). My seafood skewers (shrimp and calamari) were fine, although the calamari was a bit rubbery. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, and I enjoyed the bread crumb coating. All portions were adequate, but I wouldn't say abundant. One could easily have primo e secondo without being overstuffed. We arrived early and the staff was attentive. At the end of our meal, however, the place had filled up, and we opted to go to the next piazza for an ice cream rather than wait more for dessert.
