I went in today with my daughter and her best friend, having been swimming. We just wanted a nice, simple lunch that didn't come with 15 different side options, drizzled in extraneous dressings, served on a coal scuttle or some other tosh. The food was excellent, the sandwiches well filled, and a lovely piece of coffee & walnut cake. My daughter was particularly taken with her hot chocolate. AND IT WAS ALL SERVED ON PROPER PLATES !!! The service is charming and friendly plus, being a pastry chef, I thoroughly enjoyed looking through the baking books they had on display. Clearly this place attracts many regulars as while we were eating our lunch there seemed to be several people that were well known to the owner. In a world full of tedious, hipster places trying too hard or identikit restaurants all with the same menu it's not easy to find a good, classic tea room. Thankyou very much and next time I hope to see more of the lovely garden that the deluge prevented us from enjoying.Fiona, Kitty & AnnabelThank you so much for your kind review. We're glad you enjoyed your visit and hopefully next time you can sit in the garden.

Went in for breakfast today after a long journey home...wasn't many people in there...25 minute wait for 2 cooked breakfasts...wish we hadn't bothered...when it arrived although hot....lots if excess grease on plate....the young girl who served us was polite...the owner....well...she was very loud and her voice just went through you...all we heard was the fact that her day had started badly and it was one of those days...she continued to tell several tables this...very repetitive...yes it is tucked away in a nice little spot...but it was a let down...sorry but wont be going there again..
