A group of us had dinner but I am only writing about a very limited number of items. Reading the menu, the descriptions of the entrees are really quite plain, almost nothing out of the ordinary. The only different description was for the shrimp cocktail so I ordered it. Five shrimp that were ok and a sauce made up of tomatillo, jalapeno, and pureed avocado, etc. The dish came with a tablespoon, no fork. I guess one is supposed to eat the sauce as if it were a soup. Considering the ingredients, not a good idea. In this case, they should have stuck with regular, plain cocktail sauce. My wife and I each ordered the crab cake entree - came with mashed potatoes and an assortment of vegetables. The potatoes and veggies were ok but the crab cake was the worst I have ever tasted. I like crab cakes, have had them many times and even make them myself but this patty (see photo) was pure mush and not very tasty. As the place filled up (largely an older crowd on a Saturday night), it became so noisy that one could only hear the person to the immediate right or left. Waiter was apparently unable to bring additional water and would reach in front of one person to serve the next person at the table. Not the place for us.

This place serves up super yummy Banh Mis and Pho. Banh Mis are Vietnamese sandwiches served on a baguette with choice of meat and julienned vegetables like carrots and jalapeno. Pho is a savory, noodle soup. Typically our favorites have been the lemongrass beef Banh Mi (S5), although the S4 with the roasted pork is also really good. For Pho, we usually get the N1. It comes with thin slices of rare eye round beef and is served with all the traditional fixings. Super big portions and very filling! They also have a variety of drinks to choose from, like Boba teas, Vietnamese ice coffe (so good!), and smoothies. It's inexpensive and casual. We live just around the corner and eat here all the time.

I have to tell you that I just don't get it!! What is the big deal with Panera??? They advertise about "clean" food??? really! what I want is Great Tasting food!! I'll give them credit for the bread, nice quality. But the stuff between the bread, well not very good. Soups are good products, keep in mind that they are NOT made by Panera, they are made by a foodservice toll manufacturer. I've tried Panera on and off for a number of years but NO MORE. I'm not picking on the East Windsor location. I'm picking on the entire Company. Do yourself a favor and find a good diner near by, like Americana or Town Diners. Better food and better prices. Today I had a Cuban Sandwich (noted as NEW) and it was not good (dry meat) and one drink, my guest had Pick 2, soup and salad, one drink, total $26.00? really. Never again.
