Whe you dont expect much more to come but another farmer and more cows....there it is.Thatched roof, quite a few steps up to restaurant and there you have a view of the small river Pillau and across fields-just nature.Inside awaits you a wood panelled restaurant ,two guest rooms and friendly service.Fish is the speciality ,but meat dishes are also available. The portions are of a good size and well presented and I would advise to stick to the local fish and pass the exotic tuna for example. An "Ofenkartoffel" with the "Neptunplatte" is adventurous but does not really fit -or taste that good.A basic should be that bread is served with the soup...but we are in the country. You have to book and you should stick to beer- the wine is questionable.Altogether :a nice outing and a very reasonable meal -but not cheap.

We went on a date at the Landdrostei, and had a very nice meal. My first observation was that the design and ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. Despite being in a cellar, the light-colored paint and tasteful deco makes it seem like it's above ground. I tried the scallop carpaccio and my boyfriend the surf & turf sushi for starters, and it was just okay. The scallops were boring and sushi average. Then we had the duck and US-Rumpsteak as our main dish, and everything tasted wonderful. I asked to leave out the potato side with my steak and am glad I did because it would have been too much. The duck was very nice as well. We also chose the special wine that was creatively presented to us when we got there, and it was the perfect choice. Finally, we had the dark chocolate mousse and apple dumplings for dessert, which was also wonderful, albeit very big portions. Overall we were satisfied with minimal critique. For such a lovely menu, I would have expected a rather better plate presentation, but the taste made up for that. Service was also satisfactory, although while we were eating our dessert, it was made clear to us that the place was trying to close (all servers disappeared and the radio came on). We will certainly go back.

Very pretty building right next to Hotel Diamant. My wife and I have been twice and both times enjoyed everything we ordered. There are many Italian restaurants in Wedel, but this one is certainly worth a visit......especially if, like me, you like pizzas - probably the thinnest pizzas in Hamburg. You sit on real antique chairs and at real antique tables. Most important is the extremely friendly and accommodating staff - we were made to feel almost like one of the family and both times had a beautiful experience.
