Our local village held a Quiz night in the village hall at the weekend and we ordered a hundred meals from Steve and his team at Raunds Fish Bar.All the meals were ready to collect at the time requested, all were correctly marked, they were conveniently boxed up and the staff assisted loading them into the car, even though it was raining and the fish bar was very busy.All the people at the quiz enjoyed the food; the fish was particularly nice. Well done to Steve and his helpful friendly team. Oour village will be using you again.

I hadn't been back to this pub for a few decades - years ago it was nothing special apart from the setting and building itself. Ashton is a beautiful village - listed, chocolate box cottages nestling around a village green. But now this pub has been restored so symnpathetically - I was really surprised at the change. And the food was fabulous. The service, too. We had Sunday lunch in the back room with me opting for the vegetarian special - courgette fritters - best I've ever had. Can't recommend the place more highly and I'd love to go back when I'm in the area again. I imagine it would be a beautiful place for a romantic evening dinner.
