Chef Matthieu Herve offers a wide range of culinary delights at both of our restaurants. The Bistro de Montcaud exudes authentic French feeling and offers an array of classic French dishes as well as daily specials. The bistroâs terrace under the sycamore
This restaurant is a wonderful discovery and because we live nearby we have lunched here twice this month! First impressions are of a handsome chateau with outbuildings that contain the restaurant, all beautifully restored and stylishly equipped. The Bistro interior is spacious, comfortable and light, with large windows looking out to the terrace and parkland. Our welcome and service was excellent. The menu offers a very good, limited variety of dishes with, this month, truffles much in evidence. Everything we chose was superbly cooked and presented; altogether totally delicious. I list below some choices we particularly enjoyed. The only disappointment was that the wine prices were unnecessarily high (in our opinion) and three of the wines were not available. However, that did not spoil our overall enjoyment and we rate this our favourite and best restaurant in the Uzès/Bagnols area if you're looking for fine dining in a wonderful setting.Dear Judith, many thanks for your review. We are thrilled to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed your two lunches at our Bistro and we will make sure pass on your compliments to the chef and his team. We are honoured that you rate Bistro de Montcaud as the best restaurant in the area! As for our wine list, I am happy to inform you that we continually work on the offer, and hopefully the next time you visit you will find something more to your liking. I am very sorry that due to supply issues, several of your preferences were not available on the day. It would be a pleasure to welcome you back at any time at our bistro, or of course at our fine-dining outlet, the Restaurant de Montcaud, which will reopen for the season on 7th March. Best wishes, Andrea and Rolf Bertschi
